Have you ever wondered why we are often drawn to certain colours but we find ourselves averse to some other colours? What is the psychology behind them? Colours come from the 7 colours of the visible spectrum, which we know as rainbow (Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red). With the exception of white, all the other colours are formed from the amalgamation of these basic colours. The 7 chakras (energy centers) in the human body are also represented by colours. The root chakra (Muladahara) color is red and is connected to the adrenal glands. The sacral chakra (Svadishtana) color is orange symbolizing activity. Yellow is the colour denoting the solar plexus chakra (Manipura). The heart chakra (Anahata) is represented by green (also pink according to some people). The throat chakra color is signified by blue. The third eye chakra (Ajneya or Angneya) color is represented by indigo – an intense shade in between blue and purple. Finally, the crown chakra color is violet although some mystics also refer it by the colour white. This is the final chakra to fully open and remains dormant until we identify with the material world. When activated, the crown chakra brings awareness about the nature of pure consciousness (which seers call God) that is eternal all-pervasive. It releases you from the shackles of duality. The crown chakra is related to the pineal gland and the brain. Colours have been a powerful symbol since ages and they greatly affect our mood, feelings and emotions. If you know the meaning and mystery behind all the colours, we can make better use of them in our daily life to become more and more prosperous. Although there are 7 colours of Chakras that we have seen above, 5 of them are particularly known to bring immense prosperity to our life. So it is high time that you transform your wardrobe, home décor and vehicles to accommodate these colours to receive the positive change that you’ve been waiting to see in your life!
Green stimulates flourishing business, fertility, nourishment, balance, harmony, love, empathy, compassion, emotions, communication, love for nature, and acceptance. Wearing this colour on Wednesdays proves to be highly beneficial.
Purple stimulates our intuition, imagination, universal flow, meditation, spirituality, calmness, peace, love, honesty and devotion. Wearing purple on Saturdays will greatly benefit you.
- Yellow or Gold
Yellow is associated with the sun. It increases fun, humour, lightness, power, intellect, logic, creativity, optimism, self-esteem and confidence. Wearing yellow or gold hues on Thursdays and Sundays will bring you happiness and prosperity.
White symbolizes purity, calmness, peace and expansion, that is why it is highly recommended even in Vastu and Feng Shui as a preferable colour for your walls and ceilings. Wearing white coloured clothes on Mondays and Fridays will bring you loads of luck.
Red is known for its vitality, zest, enthusiasm, pleasure, productivity, physical energy, vitality, stamina, spontaneity, stability and passion. Red is the deepest and lowest frequency of the chakra color spectrum. At an emotional level, red is identified as being the color of passion, anger and rage, danger, heat and energy. Wear red on Tuesdays to welcome prosperity in your life.
