Travelling To Dwarka

Dwarka is in the state of Gujarat and stands on the Arabian Sea by the west coast of India in the Jamnagar District of Gujarat. It is in the Saurashtra region on the Gulf of Kutch. It is 457 km from Ahmedabad, 230 km from Rajkot, 75 km from Porbander and 144 km from Jamnagar.

Road : State transport buses connect Dwarka to the rest of Gujarat. The main bus stop is near the Dwarkadhish Temple. There are regular A/C and luxury coaches leaving for the overnight journey to Ahmedabad and Baroda. Cars can be hired for trips to Bet Dwarka, Somnath and Prabhas Patan

Rail : Nearest railhead Okha, Jamnagar, Rajkot and Porbander. Advance booking of tickets is recommended.

When To Go

There is always a huge gathering of pilgrims at the Dwarkadhish Temple during the Janamashtami festival. Being near the sea the weather is generally pleasant and the winter months are the best time to visit Dwarka.
